Netflix has released a batch of new first-look images and the full official trailer for Nemesis, its highly anticipated crime thriller from Power creator Courtney A. Kemp. All eight hour-long episodes will drop globally on May 14, 2026.

Nemesis centers on two men on opposite sides of the law — an expert criminal and a brilliant police detective — whose inevitable collision drives the series. While the show positions itself as a subversion of the heist genre, it ultimately uses that framework to explore deeper questions about what motivates us, what sustains us, and what ultimately tears us apart.

The just-under-two-minute trailer wastes no time establishing the charged dynamic between its two leads. Sharp, loaded dialogue sets their worldviews in direct opposition: "real men live by our own set of rules" versus "real men know right from wrong." The tension escalates from there, with lines like "When two people meet, one yields to the other" and the criminal's chilling self-description — "See, I'm Prometheus. I bring the fire" — underscoring the show's mythic ambitions. Perhaps most telling is his grudging acknowledgment of his adversary: "He's not just any cop. He's cutthroat just like me."

The series stars Y'lan Noel as Coltrane Wilder, the relentless criminal mastermind, and Matthew Law as Isaiah Stiles, the tenacious detective on his trail. Rounding out the core ensemble are Cleopatra Coleman (Ebony), Tre Hale (Darren), Domenick Lombardozzi (Dave), and Gabrielle Dennis (Candace).

"Tani [Marole] and I are excited to bring a hard-hitting psychological crime drama to Netflix," showrunner and Power creator Courtney A. Kemp said when the project was first announced. "Specific in location but broad in universal themes of right and wrong, love and loss, and loyalty vs. self-preservation." The series promises high-stakes drama built around complex family dynamics, explosive action, and a cat-and-mouse game where moral lines blur under pressure.

The full ensemble also includes series regulars Jonnie Park (Chris), Ariana Guerra (Yvette), Michael Potts (James), Sophina Brown (Charlie), Cedric Joe (Noah), and Jeff Pierre (Malik). Guest stars this season include Moe Irvin, Quincy Isaiah, Jay Reeves, Mike O'Malley, Stephanie Sigman, Khalilah Joi, Shane Johnson, Siua Ikale'o, Dawnn Lewis, Mark Feuerstein, and Chris Bauer.

Kemp serves as showrunner, creator, and executive producer, with Tani Marole as co-creator and executive producer. Chris Selak and Philipp Barnett also executive produce. The directorial lineup for season one includes Mario Van Peebles (episodes 101–102), who also executive produces his episodes, Millicent Shelton (103–104), Rob Hardy (105–106), and Ruben Garcia (107–108).
