Here's your weekly guide to the most noteworthy new arrivals on Netflix — plus a heads-up on some departures worth catching before they're gone.
On the removals front, there are several titles deserving your attention before they disappear. Paul Thomas Anderson's widely praised coming-of-age film Licorice Pizza and the quietly affecting indie drama The Mustang are both worth prioritizing. For something lighter, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem remains one of the most visually inventive animated films in recent memory — and it departs on the 17th. On the TV side, the sprawling pirate epic Black Sails rewards the commitment of a proper binge, while The Fairly OddParents offers a quick hit of nostalgia before it leaves.
One more scheduling note: all James Bond films will be departing next week, so now is the time to accelerate your 007 marathon if you've started one.
With that, here are three titles to put on your radar this week.
Put On Your Radar This Week
Beef (Season 2)
Coming to Netflix: Thursday, April 16th
After its first season swept the Emmys with a chaotic, razor-sharp energy that few shows could match, Lee Sung Jin's Beef returns — and it's fully committed to the anthology format. Steven Yeun and Ali Wong have handed off the baton to an impressive ensemble: Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton, and Cailee Spaeny.
The new season shifts the setting to a luxury country club, where a simmering class and generational divide forms the heart of the conflict. When two younger employees (Melton and Spaeny) witness a volatile confrontation between the club's married co-managers (Isaac and Mulligan), it ignites a ruthless power struggle — each side maneuvering to win the trust of the club's billionaire owner, played by the formidable Youn Yuh-jung. Fans of the original season's dark wit and uncomfortable moral ambiguity should find plenty to love here.
A Gorilla Story: Told By David Attenborough (2026)
Coming to Netflix: Friday, April 17th
There's still no voice in nature documentary filmmaking quite like Sir David Attenborough's, and this new Netflix original puts it to compelling use. Personal in scope, the film connects Attenborough's present-day narration to the early chapters of his broadcasting career, lending the project an unusually reflective quality.
At its core, A Gorilla Story turns its focus to one of our closest living relatives — a species both deeply familiar and critically endangered. Expect striking cinematography, rare intimate access to gorilla social life, and a thoughtful look at the conservation work being done to protect these animals. It's the kind of documentary that makes for ideal weekend viewing.
Him (2025)
Coming to Netflix: Sunday, April 19th
Jordan Peele's Monkeypaw Productions has built its reputation on socially charged horror, though Him landed with more mixed results from critics and audiences during its theatrical run. Whether it finds a more receptive home on Netflix remains to be seen.
The film stars Marlon Wayans alongside Tyriq Withers and Julia Fox. The story centers on a promising young quarterback whose career is derailed by a devastating injury just before the NFL Draft. Clutching at any opportunity to recover, he accepts an invitation to train at the secluded, state-of-the-art facility belonging to his idol — an eight-time championship quarterback. What begins as mentorship gradually curdles into something far darker and more disturbing. Him works best as a portrait of unchecked idol worship and the psychological cost of chasing greatness at any price.
